Twin Sister's Boyfriend Arrested in Connection with Kidnapping and Murder of Michelle Hampton Over $40,000 Settlement
Authorities in Clayton, MO, have arrested 36-year-old Emmanuel Suarez in connection with the kidnapping and fatal shooting of Michelle Hampton, 37, whose body was discovered in St. Louis City. Suarez faces multiple charges, including first-degree murder, kidnapping, robbery, and unlawful possession of a firearm, following his arrest on Monday.
The investigation has uncovered a disturbing motive linked to Anjuan Mosby, the boyfriend of Michelle’s twin sister, Samantha Hampton. According to court documents, Mosby, 43, learned that Michelle had received a $40,000 settlement intended for their brother. Police believe this discovery prompted him to orchestrate the crime.
Michelle was abducted at gunpoint from her home in Clayton and forced to drive to several ATMs to withdraw money. Samantha, who witnessed the kidnapping, pursued the vehicle but stopped after Mosby allegedly fired a shot at her car while her children were inside. She later informed investigators that she had told Mosby about Michelle’s settlement, noting his unusual interest in the funds.
Mosby confessed to being in the passenger seat of the yellow Dodge Ram used in the abduction. He admitted to forcing Michelle from the vehicle at gunpoint in the 4700 block of Greer, claiming he gave her a chance to flee before fatally shooting her. Mosby also confessed to attempts to destroy evidence, including plans to burn the vehicle, the firearm, and clothing used during the crime.
Samantha expressed frustration with the initial police response after reporting the abduction and shooting. Despite Mosby pleading not guilty in federal court, authorities have charged him with multiple crimes, including first-degree murder and armed criminal action.
The case has deeply affected the community, with investigators continuing to identify additional accomplices and pursue leads. Michelle Hampton’s tragic death has left her family grieving and her community demanding justice for a betrayal that ended in violence.
Police have urged anyone with further information about the case to come forward as they work to bring closure to the Hampton family. Meanwhile, the charges against Suarez and Mosby highlight the severity of the crime, as authorities unravel the calculated actions that led to Michelle’s untimely death. The investigation remains ongoing, with law enforcement determined to bring all responsible parties to justice.
