Speeding Driver Caused A Fatal Multi-vehicle Crash On Roosevelt Avenue, Killing 3 People And Injuring Another

SAN ANTONIO — A tragic multi-vehicle crash early Friday morning on the South Side of San Antonio left three people dead and one injured. The incident unfolded around 5 a.m. along Roosevelt Avenue, near Sava Street, when a high-speed collision resulted in a chain reaction that ultimately claimed the lives of two women and a man.

According to San Antonio police, the fatal crash was caused by a 46-year-old suspect, who was reportedly speeding when he slammed into the rear of a vehicle carrying three victims. The sudden impact of the crash pushed the victims' vehicle into oncoming traffic, where it was struck by another car. The force of the crash was devastating, and all three victims were pronounced dead at the scene by emergency responders.

The identities of the victims were later confirmed by the Bexar County Medical Examiner’s office. The two women who died were identified as 22-year-old Yareli Salas Dominguez and 25-year-old Leslie Salas Dominguez. The third victim, a man, has not yet been publicly named as authorities work to notify his family.

The driver responsible for the crash fled the scene on foot following the collision, but police were able to track him down shortly thereafter. The suspect was arrested and taken into custody, although no charges have yet been formally announced. Investigators are working to determine whether alcohol, drugs, or other factors contributed to the driver’s reckless behavior leading up to the crash.

In a related development, the driver of the third vehicle involved in the crash was transported to a local hospital. Fortunately, the individual sustained injuries that were not life-threatening and is currently reported to be in stable condition.

This crash highlights the growing concerns over speeding and reckless driving on San Antonio’s roadways. While the exact cause of the suspect's actions remains under investigation, experts continue to stress the dangers of high-speed driving, particularly in residential areas and early morning hours when visibility is reduced.

Accidents such as this one serve as a stark reminder of the devastating consequences that can arise from unsafe driving behaviors. San Antonio police are urging the public to be vigilant and drive responsibly, emphasizing the importance of adhering to speed limits and making safe decisions behind the wheel.

The crash is still under investigation, and police are working to piece together further details. Authorities are also encouraging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

This accident marks another chapter in the ongoing efforts to address traffic safety in San Antonio, where roadways have witnessed an alarming rise in fatal crashes in recent years. While statistics vary, local authorities are focusing on improving enforcement and public awareness campaigns in an effort to reduce the number of preventable deaths on the city’s roads.

The San Antonio community is now left to grieve the loss of three lives taken too soon, while authorities work to ensure that justice is served for those affected by this horrific event.
