KANSAS CITY, MO — Authorities are investigating a tragic shooting incident that resulted in the death of one woman and the injury of another following a large altercation on Monday night. The incident occurred in the 1300 block of West Bluff Drive around 8:25 p.m. Police were alerted to the situation through reports of gunfire and responded promptly. Upon arrival, they learned from witnesses that two individuals who had been wounded in the shooting had already fled the scene in a private vehicle. 


Shortly after, officers located the vehicle to the east on Avenida Cesar E. Chavez. Inside, they found two female victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Both women were immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. Unfortunately, despite medical efforts, 26-year-old Michelle Donato succumbed to her injuries. The identity of the second victim has not been released, but she remains hospitalized in stable condition.


Initial investigations suggest that the violence was sparked by a large fight outside an apartment on West Bluff Drive. It is believed that the altercation escalated into gunfire when additional individuals arrived at the scene. The situation quickly descended into chaos as shots were fired, leading to the injuries of the two women.


Detectives are currently working diligently to reconstruct the events that led to the shooting. They are canvassing the area for evidence and conducting interviews with witnesses to determine how many people were involved and what exactly triggered the violence. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
