Authorities have provided more details about a fatal shooting that took place at the Lafayette Laundromat on Thursday evening, December 5, 2024. The incident occurred around 7:40 p.m. at the laundromat, formerly known as Maytag Laundromat, located at 3100 South Street. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man critically injured in the parking lot. He was rushed to IU Arnett Hospital but later died from his injuries. The Tippecanoe County Coroner, Carrie Costello, identified the deceased as 35-year-old Keith Ford.
Inside the laundromat, officers discovered three more individuals with gunshot wounds. Renee Martin, 32, and Salvador Antonio De La Cruz Reyes, 30, were taken to a local hospital and are reported to be in stable condition. The alleged shooter, whose identity has not been disclosed, sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound and is in critical condition. The Lafayette Police Department (LPD) confirmed that the suspect is a man from Lincoln, Nebraska.
