Young Man, Enrique Loaiza Killed in Shelby County Car Crash



 On Friday, November 22, a devastating two-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Ft. Loramie Swanders and Kuther roads in Shelby County, Ohio, claiming the life of 21-year-old Enrique Loaiza of Sidney and leaving two others injured. The crash happened just before 7 p.m., when a 2006 Chevy Cobalt driven by Loaiza failed to stop at a posted stop sign and collided with a 2020 Honda Pilot traveling through the intersection. The impact caused both vehicles to veer off the roadway, resulting in significant damage.


Emergency responders, including Anna Fire and Rescue and Sidney Fire and EMS, were quickly dispatched to the scene. They found both vehicles heavily damaged and multiple occupants in need of urgent medical attention. Loaiza, who sustained critical injuries, was transported to Miami Valley Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver and passenger of the Honda Pilot were also injured and taken to a local hospital for treatment. Authorities have confirmed that their injuries are non-life-threatening.


The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the crash to determine the contributing factors, such as road conditions, visibility, and vehicle speed at the time of the collision.
